two days before.
Fifteen miles out, she could feel the sun beginning it's ascent and it set a shiver o fear through her. Damn it all. She'd wasted more than a half hour in changing the tire and she was pushing the sunrise even before that. "Damn it!" as she smacked her hand upon the steering wheel and pressed her foot on the accelerator. Topping out the engine until it began to whine dangerously and red line, she sped towards the house.
The sun was breaking the horizon when she slowed enough to turn into the gate, speeding to quickly to the opened garage bay. As the door closed behind them, bathing the garage in a dim light, she skidded into the packed cases that provided a barrier to the concrete wall beyond.
"Damn it all," she grumbled again as she pushed out of the car, kicked at the errant tire and yelled loudly enough to wake the dead. "Morgan!! Lee!!" as she ran up the stairs and to the main floor of the house.
